A cure for indigestion

Roast dinner to represent too much information

Imagine eating a three-course meal without stopping.

Hurrying through a presentation has the same effect. The only takeaway… is indigestion.

But there’s an easy remedy.

When we gallop through what we’re saying, it’s usually because nerves have taken over. We just want to get it over and done with.

And yes, we’ve all been there.

But we’re saturating our audience. And they’re not getting what we really want to say.

Which is a pity. Because we may well have some juicy ideas to share.

The solution?

Simply - stop - speaking. Now and again.

By pausing… we can literally transform our presentation.

1.     Pause between courses – the main parts.

2.     Pause before, and after, a key idea - to help people digest it.

3.     And pause before your closing remarks. To signal the finale.

If you’re looking for one simple technique to serve your audience a delicious, and digestible meal… pause.

Think about your next presentation. Where can you stop, connect, and breathe?
