Saying what you mean
What makes a message memorable?
I’ve been asked this many times over the years.
It’s not just the words you say.
It’s almost certainly not the slide you show.
It’s definitely not saying everything you know…
It’s whether you mean what you say.
Imagine “I have a dream…” or “Yes, we can…” delivered as a matter of course, rather than in a way that matters.
I’ve worked with many brilliant women — scientists, engineers, product leads — who have so much to offer.
And often, when they speak, they have that nagging doubt: Are people really listening to what I have to say?
I invite them to ask something else:
👉 Why does this matter to me?
👉 Why does this matter to my audience? And
👉 How do I want them to feel when they hear my message?
Because the real shift doesn’t come from “delivering” a talk.
It comes from inhabiting it.
From being clear, grounded — and present.
Confidence isn’t about sounding a certain way.
It’s about saying what you mean… and meaning what you say.
Every step of the way. And especially, when it comes to the message.
