There’s a gender gap in AI…

There’s a gender gap in AI.  Bridging it isn’t optional — it’s essential.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking to the SheAI community about lifting barriers by amplifying our voices.

SheAI is doing brilliant, necessary work to highlight the gender gap in AI, and redress the balance by offering UN-certified, affordable AI education for women.

As they point out, only 35% of women use AI professionally compared to 54% of men — a gap that directly impacts innovation, inclusion, and opportunity.

That’s why I support their mission: so that more of our voices are heard in shaping AI — and better represented in the outputs it creates.

Here are a few reflections we shared:

💬 Words matter.

They shape how we see ourselves, and how others see us. Let’s choose and use them with care.

🤝 Community matters.

When we lift each other up, we all rise.

📣 Sharing our success isn’t arrogance.

It’s generosity. It gives others permission to do the same.

💡 Pride is powerful.

Let yourself feel it. It’s not just allowed — it’s energising.

🌟 We can be the protagonists.

Not just the supporter, the fixer, or the one behind the scenes.

Our voices have power.

Let’s use them to shape not just the future, but the present too.

With confidence.

And often.
