The artist’s palette

Artist's palette.jpg

Storytelling practice in the gardens of IESE business school. At the foot of the Collserola mountains, overlooking Barcelona.

The students are our guides, each telling a story that takes us on a journey of learning, and discovery.

But they are also artists.

For storytellers carry with them a rich palette of colours.

Colours they dip into to bring their story to life.

A touch of orange here… and the characters have names.

A hint of green there… and dialogue appears.

Metaphors and imagery are those brushstrokes of pure gold.

The splashes of cream - pearls of wisdom.

And the bold swirls of red, yellow and blue depict the emotions.

Those they feel when they connect to their story.

And the ones they spark in us, their audience.

Their stories end… and we have before us a work of art.

That gives meaning to business.

And to life.

I wonder. What colours are you painting?
