Did you know… manufacturing a 2kg computer needs 800kg of resources?

That figure stopped me in my tracks recently.
 
Just think about that for a moment.
 
We’re talking 200kg of fossil fuels and 600kg of minerals, plus thousands of litres of water.

For one 2kg laptop *
 
I was taking part in a workshop on the impact of digital technology on the environment.

Of all the facts, figures and findings we learned about, that is the one that sticks in my mind.
 
The one I’ve been telling everyone about ever since.
 
And the one that will spur me to reduce my digital footprint.
