Me? Creative?
I know that look.
It’s the look I see in my clients’ eyes when I say, “It’s time to get more creative with your presentations.”
A look that says, “What, me? Creative?”
Happily, a creative presentation is not a paradox. And you can be someone who follows recipes (like me) and still be inventive.
Because, yes, we are all creative.
As children we’re endlessly flexing our creativity muscle.
As adults, though, especially in the business world, we prioritise knowledge and expertise at the expense of creativity.
And we worry about what people will think of us if we go against convention.
The result? Way too much content that dilutes – if not drowns – your message.
And that dims the light too on your personality and presence.
Here’s an idea! Start as you mean to go on - use a creative hook.
A question to your audience. An anecdote. A surprising fact.
You’ll have everyone’s attention. Guaranteed.
Reconnecting with our creativity requires a mindset shift. Giving yourself permission to think outside the template. To do things differently.
And start connecting with who we are: our unique and playful selves. The basis of a stand-out presentation.
Want some inspiration to tap into your creativity and make memorable presentations? Send me a message – I’d love to hear from you!
